New Pantone Shade In Honour of Prince
A new shade of purple has been launched by the Pantone Colour Institute in honor of the singer Prince. The new shade, called Love Symbol #2, was developed in collaboration with the singer's estate and pays tribute to Prince's mark on music, art and fashion. Prince became synonymous with the colour on 1984 following the release of the film Purple Rain.
"The color purple was synonymous with who Prince was and will always be. This is an incredible way for his legacy to live on forever," said Troy Carter, Entertainment Advisor to Prince's Estate.
Launch of the colour comes just months after the release of the 30th anniversary of the deluxe edition of the album Purple Rain.
